Wastebusters ReStore is getting bigger and better, we have a regular clientele of local recyclers and shoppers come daily or weekly to browse, have a chat and find a bargain or drop off those items that have been in the cupboard or shed and are no longer used.

Sales from reusable items help offset the increased costs of recycling especially handling lightweight materials such as plastics.

Reuse of materials is vital and requires special skills and focus as we work together towards zero waste.

Remember - - one person’s junk is another person’s treasure. We operate a “more than profit” community recycling depot so drop off your recyclables for FREE. Any return from shop sales helps to offset the increased costs of recycling and helps us work towards zero waste in the Ashburton District.

Silent Auction

Over 50 items of Unique furniture and collectibles from the 60s, 70s and earlier were promoted and displayed for bidding for 1 week every year. A number of the items including oak furniture had been dumped in the construction and demolition area and were recovered and revamped & restored before going on display.

Visitors were fascinated by the range and quality of items and many of those who came had not previously visited WasteBusters ReStore shop. Silent auctions may well become a regular drawcard for showcasing special collectible & heritage items. This years silent auction will run from Tuesday 13th May to Friday 23rd May 2008. Bidding closes 3pm Friday 23rd May 2008. Come to the education centre and view the range of items from Cuckoo Clocks to Crown Lynn Flying Ducks to Vintage Elna Sewing Machine.
